Zaya Retreats Walk-in Interview, Bali – Indonesia.
Zaya Retreats have successfully organized walk in interview at the Kamboja meeting room, Novotel Nusa Dua, Bali – Indonesia. The interview has been held for 2 days on 25th and 26th November 2014. Zaya retreats cooperate with Gotelier.Com and Spa Resourcing Indonesia to spread the information to the community of Indonesian hospitality.
Around 75 applicants participate in this event, they do not just come from Bali but there are some applicants coming from outside Bali. By working overseas, generally they want to increase their experience and knowledge in the field of hospitality.
Zaya’s Talent Development Manager Laureline Bernicke and Director of Spa & Recreations Michael Monsod tell us a bit more about their new exciting project in the UAE and why they decided to come to Indonesia.
About Zaya Retreats
Zaya Nurai Island is a private island off the coast of Abu Dhabi, UAE. Our natural island is now home to the first Zaya Retreats, a 32 one-bedroom beach retreats boutique resort that looks to invigorate the hospitality sector with fresh energy. The island has a Maldivian feel to it, and we want our guests to come on the island and reconnect with what really matters. We are here to create memories and create a sense of home away from home for our guests. Nadia Zaal, founder of Zaya Retreats and CEO of Zaya, has a unique approach and a specific concept that we, as Zayans, look to bring to life every day.
Finding the match characters
Because we want to do things differently, we also handpick our Hosts and make sure to find characters that will match our very distinctive approach. Our culture and team members is what makes Zaya Retreats unique. We focus on Talent, people that will bring their personality and ideas onto the project and help it grow. So far we have 30 different nationalities in our hotel – it’s a great opportunity to learn from each other and come up with amazing ideas.
From team morning meetings that involve a Thai-Chi or Yoga warm-up, the possibility to spend 15 USD every month on a book for self-development, the encouragement we give our staff to keep fit, healthy and constantly learn (we even have our very own Director of Wellbeing looking after each one of our Hosts); everything at Zaya Nurai Island is chic yet casual, fun yet effective and quirky yet elegant. We want to break the boundaries and have fun at work!
Why Bali?
Michael & Laureline wanted to go on a trip to find new talent, and they decided on Bali, Indonesia since they are initially focusing on Spa Therapists, which it is famously known for.
Specially Laureline, she was pleasantly surprised and has found a diverse variety of local talent that she can tap into. Indonesians in general have such a warm, friendly and attentive way – so far she love their approach to guest service and the smiles she saw around here are so heart-warming.
Michael & Laureline find themselves spending more time meeting and talking to people since they believe that it has to be the right fit, both for us and the candidate.
